Originally, Children First Learning Center, Inc. was an Indiana state licensed center that offered quality childcare and education for children ages 6 weeks thru 10 years. In October of 2010 Children First Learning Center Foundation was created.
The building is now operated as a non-profit licensed center that offers childcare for children ages 6 weeks to school aged. The Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten Turtle House continues to operate as a for profit licensed center that offers a combination of childcare and pre-kindergarten/kindergarten services for children, starting at the age of 3.
Before we split into two centers, Children First Learning Center was established in 2004 by Candace D. Ziese, with the help of her husband, Kenneth Ziese. Candace works at both centers taking care of administrative duties and Ken keeps busy running Ziese and Sons Excavating, Inc. with his family. Ken and Candace have one very active son named, Kenny. It was the lack of quality childcare for Kenny, which inspired Candace to start Children First Learning Center.
The center’s main building opened on April 5, 2004 and on August 24, 2008 the center was expanded; opening a Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten in the house located next to the building. It is always our goal at both centers to offer excellent quality care and education in a safe and secure environment that allows children to grow, learn and express themselves freely. As the owner of CFLC Inc. and director of CFLC Foundation, Candace takes great pride in being able to offer personalized care due to her ability to be hands-on in the daily operations at the center.

Parents/Guardians must pick a Pre-K/K Program Option at enrollment. Children may only be dropped off at or after the programs start time (before 11:30 am). Children must be picked up at or before the programs end time. Your account will be charged $20.00 per hour, per child, if you drop off before your programs start time. Your account will be charged $20.00 per hour, per child if you pick up after your programs end time. Full Time ONLY. After Center Closing Charge: If you pick up your child/children after closing (6:00 pm) your account will also be charged $2.00 per minute per child until you arrive.
